Over a longer time we have been changing our communication possibilities in TRIKKS to make it easier for users to communicate with each other within the platform.
We have split our former "Messages" into 2 options: Notifications and Chat.
Notifications are always available in the left side menu. Notifications are one-way messages for example system messages like invitations to content or messages send by a content administrator to a user. Each user has the possibility to decide if she wants to receive them as an email. All users will always see all notifications when logged into TRIKKS. You can see new notifications indicated by a small number next to the symbol in the left side menu.
All users can edit which notification they want to receive as an email here: Click on "Notifications" in the left side menu and then click on the 3 dots menu.
Chat is visible in the left side menu if activated by an administrator. Chat are two-way messages for example an answer to your post in a Community (if enabled) or a chat comment to a content element you have access to. Each new chat is indicated by a number on the symbol.
You can also send chats to other users in the platform as long as you have a connection to them and they will be listed when you create a new chat. You can even create personal notes when sending a chat to yourself.
