Platform Update: user profile, community improvements and sidebar modifications

In the latest release from TRIKKS development team, we have made the following updates to production:

  • There is a new and improved profile pop-up with several easy-to-use privacy settings that the users can have full control of.

  • Small sidebar improvements:

    • The left sidebar has a new arrow that enables the collapsing and expansion of the menu more intuitive to use.

    • The sidebar also has a logout button accessible at all times. (Note that the profile link has now been removed from the left sidebar as it is a part of the 'Home' page)

  • We have improved the notifications that the community users will now receive directly as a part of 'messages' option present in the left side bar. Those who follow a particular post in the activity stream, will receive all relevant information related to the post that they follow (reactions, new comments etc.)

  • It is possible to comment back on posts or react to them, directly from the notification message that the user receives.

    The new profile pop-up

    To access the new profile pop-up, simply click 'Home'. Your display picture and name, both are clickable that open up the profile pop-up:

    Notice the edit pencil icon on the right side. Clicking this will make live editing on the page possible, as needed.

     

    By clicking the checkboxes on the right side of each field, users can control which information they wish to display publicly on their profile.

     

    It is also possible to connect social accounts to your profile, as well as add any additional emails as needed.

    Also note that that the users can set-up their default language, start page as well as other security related settings as a part of the 'Preferences & settings' tab.

     

    Community notification and updates

    For members of a community, as well as community administrators and facilitators, all relevant notifications will be delivered in 'Messages' from now onwards, with the content/post directly visible and clickable as a part of that message.

     

    Notice the subject line, it is now possible to directly click the name of the sender. This displays the profile pop-up of that user, making it possible to view more information about the sender.
