What is the GDPR Regulation?
In summary, GDPR is a regulation on data protection which applies to data subjects within the European Union (EU). GDPR gives control to EU data subjects in regards to how their data is processed, stored, or transmitted. As a result, GDPR impacts all corners of the globe, making this legislation applicable to organizations outside of the EU, many of which are based in the U.S.
How does TRIKKS ensure that our customers' data is secure?
TRIKKS is strongly committed to protecting personal data. We make every check possible to ensure that our platform and the services that we use are always up to date and all the latest security patches have been installed.
We use SSL encryption for all our customer subscriptions/academies.
Use of Personal Data:
When it comes to personal data, it is important to make sure that the processing of personal data is limited to what is necessary and keeping data for only as long as it meets its purpose. The best safeguard, of course, is to never collect more than the minimal amount of personal data that we need.
TRIKKS requires some personal data in order to know who our users are. At the same time, any data that we collect is on the basis of explicit consent. We offer the users to take an active action on clearly stated consent forms, and we maintain a record of the same.
Under the user profile settings, we offer different settings for the users to choose to receive marketing messages from us. You can select which kinds of marketing messages you want to receive at any time by editing your preferences.
Privacy training is available to TRIKKS employees to ensure that the intended purpose for the collection of personal data is maintained.
Security:
At TRIKKS, we closely adhere to the GDPR technical requirements that need to be in place to ensure that our organization is ready for GDPR.
Security forms the cornerstone of the TRIKKS platform and in accordance with Article 25, we take all measures to ensure that personal data is not made accessible without the individual’s consent (including during a breach).
Our cloud provider guarantees that all servers and databases are stored within the EU.
Cookies:
Cookies support us in remembering your username, for example, for your next visit, and understanding how you are interacting with our platform. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use our services to its full potential.
Third-party Applications:
We continuously evaluate all third-party services when it comes to how and where they store the data we send to them—and replace them with better alternatives if necessary. As an example, we recently replaced our email service provider with one that could provide better guarantees for emails being both stored and sent within the EU.
In addition, we regularly assess and manage any compliance gaps within our workforce by sending out assignments and knowledge update sheets to all the employees at TRIKKS.
